How our weight service works
Weight management works best when it’s supervised, personal, and honest. We begin with a full consultation — your health history, current medicines, weight, and goals. Our Independent Prescriber then decides, with you, whether treatment is appropriate and what the safest, most effective plan looks like. Some people are suitable for medication; others are better supported with lifestyle changes, and we’ll tell you straight either way.
Is it right for me?
Prescription weight-loss treatment is generally considered for adults above a certain BMI, or a slightly lower BMI alongside weight-related health conditions. Suitability is always decided during a clinical assessment — it is never guaranteed, and it isn’t suitable for everyone. Pregnancy, certain medical conditions, and some medicines can rule it out.
What treatment can involve
Where clinically appropriate, the prescriber may recommend a GLP-1 medicine (such as those known by the brand names Mounjaro or Wegovy) as part of a wider plan. These are prescription-only medicines that must be prescribed and monitored by a clinician — they are not something you simply buy. We’ll explain how they work, the possible side effects, and what monitoring is needed before anything is prescribed.
Ongoing support
- Regular check-ins to track your progress and how you’re feeling
- Dose reviews and adjustments handled by the prescriber
- Practical advice on diet, activity, and managing side effects
- A private, judgement-free space to ask questions

Common questions
Can I just buy the injections?
No. These are prescription-only medicines. They can only be supplied after a clinical assessment and are monitored throughout.
Is it guaranteed I’ll be prescribed treatment?
No — the prescriber decides based on your health. If it’s not right for you, we’ll explain why and discuss alternatives.
How much weight will I lose?
Results vary from person to person. We focus on safe, sustainable progress, not promises.
